  Case & Bezel: The watch features the iconic square case shape that defines the Santos collection. The case and bezel are crafted from 18k yellow gold. A signature design element is the bezel, which is secured by eight exposed, polished screws, a motif inspired by the original 1904 model.

  Dial: The most striking feature of this particular model is its vibrant, graduated green sunray dial. The color is darkest at the edges and becomes brighter towards the center, which gives it incredible depth. It features Cartier's classic elongated Roman numerals as hour markers and a "chemin de fer" or railroad-style minute track. The hands are polished, sword-shaped steel.

History and Significance

The Cartier Santos holds a special place in watchmaking history. It was designed by Louis Cartier in 1904 for his friend, the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, who needed a way to check the time while flying. This makes the Santos one of the very first wristwatches ever designed for men.
